There is No Comparison of Any Religion With Kṛṣṇa Consciousness
Śrīla Prabhupāda emphatically declares that the transcendental reality of Kṛṣṇa consciousness stands entirely alone. In the material world, we often evaluate things by comparing them to one another—weighing one philosophy, lifestyle, or source of happiness against another. However, when it comes to the Absolute Truth, such comparisons fall hopelessly short. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the supreme knowledge found in the Vedic literatures, the unmatched bliss of spiritual realization, and the unalloyed love exhibited by Śrī Kṛṣṇa's eternal associates have absolutely no equivalent. To practice pure Kṛṣṇa consciousness is to step beyond the realm of ordinary religion into a completely unique, eternal exchange of love with the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Peerless Spiritual Literature
Śrīla Prabhupāda points out that the vast body of Vedic literature compiled by Śrīla Vyāsadeva is completely unrivaled. Books like the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam are not ordinary historical texts or mundane poetry; they are the flawless, transcendental sound incarnation of the Lord Himself, containing knowledge that cannot be found anywhere else in the three worlds.
- There is no literature throughout the universe like Srimad-Bhagavatam. There is no comparison. There is no competition. Every word is for the good of the human society.
- This Bhagavad-gita, there is no comparison. There is no second book in the whole world which contains so full of knowledge.
- This Srimad-Bhagavata . . . Sri means very beautiful. So every sloka you'll find very, very beautiful. Five thousand years ago these verses were written. There is no comparison. Nobody can write such verses even up to date. It was written by Vyasadeva.
- There is no comparison to the Krsna-karnamrta within the three worlds. By studying this book, one is elevated to the knowledge of pure devotional service to Krsna.
Material Happiness Versus Transcendental Bliss
According to Śrīla Prabhupāda, people mistakenly equate spiritual joy with the highest forms of material pleasure. In truth, there is no comparison. Whether one speaks of earthly delights, the advanced protections and pleasures of the demigods, or even the spiritual peace of impersonal brahmānanda (realization of the formless Brahman), all of these become entirely insignificant when compared to the ocean of bliss found in pure devotional service to Kṛṣṇa.
- There is no comparison between material happiness and transcendental happiness.
- Transcendental bliss in the realization of impersonal Brahman becomes comparable to the scanty water contained in the pit made by a cow's hoof. It is nothing compared with the ocean of bliss of the vision of the Personality of Godhead.
- The results of devotional service rendered in full Krsna consciousness cannot be compared to the results of demigod worship, fruitive activity or mental speculation.
- Actually, even thinking of the demigods cannot compare with thinking of Krsna. It is warned in the vaisnava-tantra that one who puts Visnu, Narayana or Krsna on the same level as the demigods is called a pasandi, or rascal.
The Supreme Associates of the Lord
Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the relationships Kṛṣṇa enjoys with His pure devotees in the spiritual world are completely unique. We cannot compare material love—which is fundamentally based on sense gratification—to the unalloyed, selfless devotion of Mother Yaśodā or the gopīs of Vṛndāvana. Their love for the Lord represents the absolute zenith of spiritual perfection.
- Bhagavan has personally descended to become her beloved child. Therefore there is no comparison to mother Yasoda's good fortune.
- Love for Krsna cannot be compared to material love.
- There are stages of devotees. So gopis are the topmost, and amongst the gopis, Srimati Radharani is the topmost. Therefore there is no comparison of Radharani's love for Krsna.
- Krsna's rasa dance should never be compared to any kind of material dance, such as a ball dance or a society dance. The rasa dance is a completely spiritual performance.
The Incomparable Path of Pure Devotion
Finally, Śrīla Prabhupāda clarifies that the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement itself is not just another sectarian religion or social welfare program. It is the direct process of reviving the soul's eternal relationship with God. Therefore, the pure Vaiṣṇavas who dedicate their lives to this movement, dancing and chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, are acting on a platform that has no equal in this world.
- To become Krsna conscious is to become religious, is to remain in goodness, and is to make progress and advancement in self-realization. Everything is complete. There is no comparison of any religion with Krsna consciousness.
- I am so glad to note your realization about the Krishna Consciousness Movement. Actually it is unique and there is no comparison with it of any other Movement. It was Caitanya Mahaprabhu's prediction that by accepting this Movement, everywhere people will be very happy.
- A pure devotee who is always engaged in Krishna Consciousness can sacrifice everything for the service of the Lord. One who has dedicated his life to the service of Lord Caitanya, Krsna and the spiritual master, is a devotee and cannot be compared to professional men.
- You don't compare with that (footpath) dancing. It (Hare Krsna dancing) is not dog's dancing. They (the devotees) chant, they feel - they dance.
Conclusion
Śrīla Prabhupāda perfectly illustrates that the Absolute Truth is, by definition, without equal. Modern society often attempts to categorize Kṛṣṇa consciousness as merely one of many religious faiths, or tries to equate the Supreme Lord's pastimes with ordinary mundane mythology. However, as the Vedic literatures rigorously prove, there is simply no comparison. The knowledge, the bliss, the character of the devotees, and the supreme, loving reciprocation found in Kṛṣṇa consciousness are entirely transcendental. By recognizing the incomparable supremacy of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and His devotional service, a sincere soul can stop wandering through the lesser paths of material and impersonal pursuits and confidently surrender to the highest perfection of life.
