Prabhupāda Teaches His Disciples to Say Exactly What Kṛṣṇa Says
To preach the message of Godhead effectively, one must possess unshakeable spiritual authority. In his extensive instructions, Śrīla Prabhupāda taught his disciples that the true power of their preaching comes not from their own academic brilliance, but from their strict adherence to the paramparā. By refusing to manufacture their own ideas and choosing instead to repeat exactly what Kṛṣṇa says, devotees can speak with an absolute certainty that shatters the illusions of the modern materialistic world.
Speaking with Absolute Certainty
Unlike mundane philosophers and scientists who constantly revise their theories and rely on inductive guesswork, the followers of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement operate on the deductive process of descending knowledge. Śrīla Prabhupāda trained his disciples to eliminate hesitant phrases like "I think," "maybe," or "perhaps" from their preaching vocabulary. Because the information is received directly from the supreme, infallible source, devotees are empowered to present the philosophy of bhakti with absolute and definitive certainty.
- Our teaching, Krsna consciousness, is perfect because we have taken the lesson from Krsna. Just try to understand how perfect we are. We don't say anything as "I think," "maybe," "perhaps." No. We never say so. We say definite.
- We say everything definitely. How I can say definitely? Because I have heard it from Krsna. The example I have given: The child, he asks his father, "Father, what is this?" Father says, - My dear child, it is called microphone.
- Our process is, process of acquiring knowledge, is very easy and perfect. That is Krsna consciousness. We cannot say anything which is not accepted by the authorities coming from Krsna.
- We have taken the perfect information from the perfect source. We say not one million; 900,000. This is called Vedic knowledge. This is perfect.
- We say that the words of sastra should be taken as they are, without change, since they are beyond our arguments.
Repeating Kṛṣṇa's Words Without Alteration
The secret to becoming a perfect preacher is simple: do not change the message. Śrīla Prabhupāda heavily criticized the tendency of modern commentators to interpret the Vedic scriptures to suit their own agendas. He instructed his disciples that their only business is to act as faithful messengers, repeating Kṛṣṇa's demand for surrender exactly as it appears in the Bhagavad-gītā. By preserving the purity of the original instruction, the message retains its full spiritual potency to transform hearts.
- Krsna consciousness movement is very bona fide because we say the same thing as Krsna says. We don't make any addition, alteration.
- So if we say, people become angry. And we don't say anything. We simply repeat. That is our business. We are not learned scholars. But our mission is to repeat the words of Krsna.
- Krsna says: "You surrender unto to Me," and we say: "You surrender unto to Krsna." That is religion.
- We are preaching this, that "You take to Krsna. Surrender to Krsna." Krsna said the same thing we are saying. We are not manufacturing it. Why should we manufacture? The words are already there.
- These rascals will change every year their theology. So what is the value of their words? Childish. He is a rascal. We say, "Krsna, the Supreme" We never change it. And "Surrender is the only process" We shall never change it.
Boldly Challenging Materialistic Science
Armed with absolute knowledge, Śrīla Prabhupāda encouraged his disciples to fearlessly challenge the bluffing of atheistic scientists and philosophers. When the modern world falsely claims that life comes from matter or that human society can find perfect happiness through technological advancement, devotees must strongly protest. Because they stand on the solid foundation of Vedic truth, the followers of Kṛṣṇa consciousness possess the ultimate right to expose the ignorance of a godless civilization.
- The modern scientists, they are of opinion that life comes from matter. We say, "No, life comes from life. Matter comes from life." This is satyam.
- If you say to the scientist: "What you have done for the human society to live eternally in perfect happiness?" What is their answer? (They will say that they are trying) That is nonsense. Therefore we kick on your face. Therefore we have got the right.
- People are very against us: "No, I am a scholar. I am a philosopher. I can interpret in any way." We say, "No, sir, you cannot do that." This is our propaganda. Veda-pranihito dharmah.
- With chemists we have no quarrel if they begin from light. They're beginning from darkness. That is our contention. We say: "Begin from light." And they say: "No, begin from darkness." Because they're in darkness.
- We can say from our poor knowledge that as they have failed in the moon planet, they will fail also in the Mars. Take it down. Note now. Do you know this is all bluff.
Uncompromisingly Preaching the Absolute Truth
Preaching Kṛṣṇa consciousness is often a thankless task because the unvarnished truth strikes directly at the conditioned soul's desire for sense gratification. Śrīla Prabhupāda taught that devotees must not be afraid to use harsh words if necessary to wake people from their illusion. By boldly declaring that anyone who is not a devotee is a rascal, and by insisting on the cessation of the four pillars of sinful life, the preachers act as true friends to a society that is foolishly enjoying its own ignorance.
- Our business is very thankless task. We say any man who is not a devotee, he is rascal. We say generally. It is very harsh word, but we have to use it. As soon as we see that he is not a devotee of Krsna, then he's a rascal.
- Ignorance is not bliss, but it is folly to be wise where ignorance is bliss. That is the difficulty, our. The whole world is enjoying ignorance, and when we say about Krsna consciousness, they do not very much appreciate.
- We say: "Stop these four pillars of sinful life: illicit sex, intoxication, meat-eating and gambling." These are the four pillars of sinful life.
- We say: You rascal, you don't be overintelligent. You submit to God, you'll be happy. Because you cannot become intelligent, you are rascal. So give up this rascaldom, sarva-dharman parityajya (BG 18.66). Simply surrender to Krsna. Then you'll be happy.
- When we say so many no's they think it is brainwash. Not brainwash. It is actual. If you want to develop your spiritual life, then you have to stop so many nuisance. That is nivrtti-marga.
Presenting the Ultimate Solution for Humanity
Despite the bold challenges and strict prohibitions, the ultimate message of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is one of supreme compassion and joy. Śrīla Prabhupāda explained that devotees freely offer the absolute highest reward—pure love of God—without asking for any monetary payment or imposing material qualifications. By openly inviting everyone to simply chant the holy names and accept the Supreme Controller, the disciples present the only true, universal solution to the overwhelming problems of the material world.
- Our only appeal to you, all people of the world, that we are embarrassed with so many problems. So we say this is the only solution. There is no price; there is no tax; there is no imposition of previous qualification. Simply chant Hare Krsna.
- Take to this (KC) movement; your life will be sublime. Easiest process. There is no charge. There is no fee. We don't charge anything. We don't say that, "I give you some secret mantra. You give me some dollars." No. It is open - Chant Hare Krsna.
- What one has to attain after many, many births, we are simply saying is surrender to Krsna. This is Krsna consciousness. That's all. This is the greatest boon or, what is called, greatest reward or contribution to the human society.
- We say frankly that we know God, His father's name, His address, everything. Let anyone come and challenge. He cannot say that, "No, this is not God," because he has not approached God. He does not know what is God.
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is no sectarian movement. We don't say that this is Christian religion or Hindu religion or Mohammedan religion or Buddhist religion. These religions develop in different parts of the world under different conditions.
Conclusion
By training his disciples to speak solely on the authority of the paramparā, Śrīla Prabhupāda created a society of empowered, fearless preachers. He proved that when devotees stop speculating and simply repeat what Kṛṣṇa says, they wield the absolute spiritual power necessary to defeat material illusion. This uncompromising stance is the ultimate act of welfare, offering a bewildered world the definitive, universal path to eternal happiness.
