God As a King - The Ideal Monarch
The role of a king is not to exploit the citizens for personal sense gratification, but to act as the direct representative of the Supreme Lord. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that to teach human society the flawless standards of administration and protection, the Supreme Personality of Godhead personally descends to rule as the ideal monarch.
The Original King and Protector
Every earthly ruler is ultimately a subordinate representative of the Supreme Lord. Śrīla Prabhupāda notes that Nārāyaṇa, or Lord Viṣṇu, is the original king of all kings, eternally situated as the supreme provider, maintainer, and protector of all surrendered souls.
