Kṛṣṇa is the Supersoul in Everyone's Heart
Śrīla Prabhupāda reveals that the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Kṛṣṇa, is never far from any living entity. By His inconceivable potency, He expands Himself as the Paramātmā (Supersoul) to sit within the core of every heart. This feature of the Lord serves as the antaryāmī, the inner witness who observes all and knows all, while simultaneously acting as the caitya-guru, the internal spiritual master who guides the soul back to its eternal home.
The Omniscient Witness of the Heart
As the Paramātmā, Kṛṣṇa is the constant companion of the individual soul. Śrīla Prabhupāda highlights how the Lord is intimately aware of every living entity’s consciousness, as seen in the lives of devotees like Akrūra and Kālindī, who recognized that Kṛṣṇa already knew their innermost thoughts and purposes.
- Akrura was afraid, because he had been deputed by Kamsa, the enemy of Krsna. He thought, "I am going to see Krsna as a messenger of the enemy." At the same time, he thought, "Krsna is in everyone’s heart as Supersoul, so He must know my heart."
- Arjuna duly carried the message of the girl Kalindi to Krsna, although Krsna, as the Supersoul in everyone's heart, knew everything. Without further discussion, Krsna immediately accepted Kalindi and asked her to sit down on the chariot.
- Akrura was Krsna's uncle; therefore, when he came back to Dvaraka, Lord Krsna first of all gave him a welcome befitting a superior person. Krsna is the Supersoul in everyone and knows everything going on in everyone's heart.

- As the Supersoul, Lord Krsna enlightens the devotee from within the heart and disperses the gloom of ignorance. The Lord gives the devotee the spiritual intelligence to attain Him.
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead is situated as the Supersoul within the cores of the hearts of all living entities. As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (15.15): "I (Krsna) am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness."

Śrīla Prabhupāda teaches that the Lord is present even in the smallest atom and in the hearts of all species, yet He remains unaffected by the material qualities of the bodies He inhabits, maintaining His supreme, transcendental position.
- As the Supreme, He (Krsna) can enter into the atom and into the heart of the smallest and control him as the Supersoul. Although so small, He is still all-pervading and is maintaining everything. By Him all these planetary systems are sustained.
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, Krsna's expansion is situated in everyone's heart as the Supersoul. Similarly, instead of expanding Himself as the Supersoul, He expanded Himself as a portion of calves and cowherd boys for one continuous year.
- Lord Krsna as Paramatma, Supersoul, lives everywhere. He lives in the heart of a hog also. The hog eats stool, but that does not mean that because the Supreme Lord is in the heart of the hog, He is also subjected to such punishment.
- Sri Krsna Caitanya is the basis of the impersonal Brahman. The Paramatma, or Supersoul, who is present within the heart of every living entity and within every atom of the universe, is but the partial representation of Lord Caitanya (CC Introduction).
The Internal Teacher and Guide
Ultimately, Kṛṣṇa acts as the caitya-guru, the internal spiritual master. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that when a soul becomes serious about spiritual life, the Supersoul directs them to take shelter of a bona fide external spiritual master, showing that both internal and external guidance are manifestations of Kṛṣṇa’s mercy.
- Krsna is described here (SB 4.19.3) as sarvatma, meaning that He is present in everyone's heart as the Supersoul, and as such He is the supreme teacher of everyone.
- Krsna as the Supersoul is seated within the heart of the living entity, and when the living entity is serious, the Lord directs him to take shelter of His representative, a bona fide spiritual master.
