La mente es vacilante e inestable por naturaleza. Pero un yogī autorrealizado tiene que controlar la mente; la mente no debe controlarlo a él. Aquel que controla la mente (y, en consecuencia, también los sentidos) recibe el nombre de gosvāmī, o svāmī, y aquel que es controlado por la mente recibe el nombre de go-dāsa, o sirviente de los sentidos. El gosvāmī conoce la pauta de la felicidad de los sentidos. En el ámbito de la felicidad trascendental de los sentidos, éstos se hallan dedicados al servicio de Hṛṣīkeśa, o el propietario supremo de los sentidos —Kṛṣṇa—. Servir a Kṛṣṇa con sentidos purificados se denomina conciencia de Kṛṣṇa. Ésa es la manera de controlar los sentidos por completo. Y lo que es más, eso constituye la máxima perfección de la práctica del yoga.&lt;br /&gt;
