Verdadero sannyāsa-yoga o bhakti significa que uno debe conocer su posición constitucional como entidad viviente, y actuar de conformidad con ello. La entidad viviente no tiene una identidad separada e independiente. Ella es la energía marginal del Supremo. Cuando está atrapada por la energía material, está condicionada, y cuando está consciente de Kṛṣṇa, o consciente de la energía espiritual, se encuentra, entonces, en su estado de vida verdadero y natural. Por lo tanto, cuando uno tiene pleno conocimiento, le pone fin a toda la complacencia material de los sentidos, o renuncia a todas las clases de actividades para complacer los sentidos. Esto lo practican los yogīs, los cuales les impiden a los sentidos el apego material. Pero una persona en estado de conciencia de Kṛṣṇa no tiene ninguna oportunidad de ocupar los sentidos en nada que no sea para Kṛṣṇa. De modo que, una persona consciente de Kṛṣṇa es simultáneamente un sannyāsī y un yogī. El propósito del conocimiento y de la restricción de los sentidos, tal como se prescribe en los procesos de jñāna y de yoga, se cumple automáticamente en el proceso de conciencia de Kṛṣṇa.
